CENTER FOR CLINICAL OBSERVATIONAL INVESTIGATIONS
MrOS (Osteoporotic Fractures in Men Study) is a multi-center longitudinal, observational study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with osteoporosis and bone fracture in older men (aged 65 and older). The study has been operational since 1998 and funded by National Institute on Aging (NIA), National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, and Skin Disease (NIAMS); National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In 2001, the study further expanded internationally to collaborate with sites in Hong Kong and Sweden. Study participants attended baseline examination, follow-up assessments and 5-year comprehensive assessments for physical function and performance evaluations.
